David is currently working with the band to develop their live set, including the use of backing tracks and sample pads.
David and drummer; Dan Doyle were up at Metropolis Studios, London tracking drums and acoustic guitar for four songs that will be released later this year. We worked with engineer Alex Robinson, whose credits include Sting, The Script, Elton John, Chase and Status.... Amazing day with some great results. We also performed at The Star, Guildford supporting Spriggan Mist.
We started the month with two back to back gigs, the first at The Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth in support of Amnesty International, and the second at The Acoustic Couch, Bracknell. This was a great couple of days performing at two brilliant venues. We also performed a live radio session for Seahaven FM, was a good laugh. David saw one of his favourite acts at the moment; Dermot Kennedy in Brighton, an amazing night. You can hear the influence from his work in the newer Mountfield releases.
The month began with huge event, our track was played as
BBC Sussex & Surrey's BBC Introducing TRACK OF THE DAY
on Friday 5th. This was absolutely incredible for us, was a real
honour and delight. We are grateful for their support and hope
to be on a BBC Introducing stage in the future.
A big month of gigs leading up to the release of our latest single "Table for Two" which was mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Christian Wright ( Bears Den, Mumford and Sons, Coldplay). This was an incredible experience, was so honoured to walk through the doors and work in a place of such history.
It was a month of busking, including playing at the popular Airbourne Festival in Eastbourne, David went on a short break to Venice and did some busking in the streets, which was incredible. David and Rob also attended Reading Festival and saw some great acts, very inspiring experience, looking forward to playing there sometime soon !
We had a brilliant night at Printers Playhouse for the the single release of; "White Lines" it was released after months of hard work and is a great track which we are very proud of. We played to a full house and it was well received by everyone. You can find the single on all major online stores.
We also released our mash up of Human by Rag 'n' Bone Man and Love Lockdown by Kanye West, it's out on youtube and Soundcloud, give it a listen.
Been a crazy busy month of gigs, including Printers Playhouse, Maggie Mae's and Gearooz pop up shop met some great people and loving playing our music in lots of new venues. We have also been busy in the studio, working on the EP. Highlight of the month was definitely going to see Bears Den these guys are awesome, and one day we would love to support them.

We had a some great gigs this month, including the Curious Steampunk Christmas Bazaar, The Prince Albert, Brighton and the Eastbourne Christmas Market where we played to the shoppers enjoying the wonderful festive atmosphere. It was a great night and we hope to play at this fantastic venue again in the new year.
And to help everyone along with the festive feel we also uploaded a cover of Lucy Spraggan's' It doesn't feel like Christmas', so if you haven't already check it out below. All in all it was a bit of a crazy month for us, which we loved. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to sharing more news about Mountfield in 2017.

Been non-stop this month but we have really enjoyed ourselves, going to great new events and meeting some great people.
We performed at The Cottage, Hailsham for a private party. We also played The Little Gig at Earwig, Lewes an event arranged by Cliffe Bonfire, another brilliant festival with lots of great music from local people, we were really pleased to have been asked to play. We ended the month with The Curious Garden Party, a steampunk event in Alfriston, our evening slot was amazing, everyone really enjoyed our set, we had people up dancing and the pub was really rocking, we have never had so many cries of 'Encore' and a few people were even begging the organizer to let us play more. Brilliant night !!
We have also been busking around Sussex, and played 'The Busk Stop' at Churchill Square shopping Centre, Brighton it was great to play in such an unusual venue, the acoustics were great, another one we hope to play again in the future.
What a great month we've had, it has been great getting out and about playing our music in some very different venues. The highlight has to be our own event at The Royal Oak.

A month to take a breath and rest with the festival celebrations. We had a couple of great Christmas themed gigs in Eastbourne town, one of which ended in free burgers! The gigs were a lot of fun and were a lovely goodbye to 2017.
BIG NEWS !! We released the acoustic version of White Lines, which was picked up by BBC Introducing! White Lines was aired on Saturday the 23rd, it was brilliant to hear our music on this platform, and also to hear the great comments. If you want to hear more of Mountfield on BBC Introducing please let them know. We have been busy working on the new tracks for the EP, as well as working on songs as a full band. We played at the Mind, Body & Spirit Festival, Lewes, as well as a few showcase sessions.
We had a full on month of gigs this month, including Aqua Fest, Ely, Cambridge and we had a brilliant set at The Eastbourne Lammas Festival where we played to a packed marquee, we also had a great time playing at FirleFest, near Lewes for our old friends Firle Bonfire and we should also mention the brilliant set at ACM Summer Live, at The Electric Theatre, Guildford, head over to our gig page and gallery to see more we had an absolute blast. And on top of all that we also released a live acoustic version of White Lines.
Mountfield have been listed on The Academy of Contemporary Music Roster, check us out here. Work has been continuing on the EP, and I can report it is sounding sweet, take a look at this video of us in the studio for a sneak preview.
We are also in the process of organizing a Summer Tour, with lots of exciting places for example Aqua Fest in Cambridge and also St Mark's Square in Venice, going to be a great Summer, hope to catch you somewhere, and please come and say Hi.
The year is beginning to ramp up now, had a few great gigs, and have been busy arranging many more for the summer.
Attended a really great Masterclass with Sandy Beales and Jon Shone, both musicians who had lots of great advice and interesting stories. New songs and studio work are both in preparation, looking forward to letting you all know more soon.
January was a quiet month for us on the gig front but there has been lots of discussion about the direction of the band and the music we create so watch out for some new sounds from Mountfield soon. We have also been busy writing and have some new tracks that we shall be previewing in the next few months.
Another busy month, played at two open mic nights in Guildford which was great, hoping to perform at Thirty3HZ and the OKE again soon so check out our FB page or here for more details as they become available. We have a couple of gigs coming up next month, so check out our Gig page for more details.
We have also uploaded our version of Agape by Bear's Den, we love this song and hope you enjoy it too.
Things have quieted down a little this month but we have still been busy working on our music, and we found time to do a cover of Coldplay's Green Eyes. We also started up a regular weekly event called 'Mountfield Recommends' we will be sharing songs from new and established bands, if you have a song you would like Mountfield to check out please get in touch.
Another busy month for us, we had a visit to the Eastbourne Live Lounge where we had a great slot, looking forward to playing their again in the near future. We then went on to play at Firlefest, organised by Firle Bonfire. A sweet festival, nice and relaxed with great people and good beer, our set went down really well so looking forward to supporting more of their events in the future.
We have also been busy working on new material, busking around Sussex and recording for the EP.

We had an amazing time recording a couple of tracks at Metropolis Studios London, with engineer Xavier Stephenson who has worked with such names as Bon Jovi, The Who, Eric Clapton and many more.After a long wait, it's finally here - our very first release.
